Position Highlights:
- Verify, screen, and approve fiscal documents, including vouchers, warrants, requisitions, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Record transactions in subsidiary and general ledgers with meticulous precision.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial records and data integrity.
- Play a pivotal role in shaping budget allocation, resource optimization, and overseeing financial transactions.
- Prepare clear and concise financial reports for departmental use.
- Maintain knowledge of accounting and reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with regulations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Auditing, Business Administration (with emphasis on Accounting, Finance, or Economics), Economics, Finance, or related field.
- Alternatively, hold sixty (60) semester units or ninety (90) quarter units of college, with twelve (12) semester units or fifteen (15) quarter units in accounting and/or auditing.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience equivalent to Accountant Assistant in the County of Santa Clara.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), auditing principles and procedures, and relevant financial systems and software applications.
- Ability to effectively communicate with colleagues, management, and the public.
- Proficiency in analyzing and evaluating financial data, preparing concise reports, and maintaining accurate records.
- Experience with automated accounting systems, spreadsheets, and relevant computer applications.

Supplemental Pay: Performance Bonus
Schedule: 8-hour shifts, occasional weekends
